Sutton Scholars start their second year

On Thursday, 12 October 2017, our Year 10 Sutton Scholars group went on their first trip to Cambridge University to start their second year on the project that is aimed at encouraging secondary school pupils to study at University.
During the day they all picked a project to work on and will now start to develop their knowledge and ideas. More visits will follow throughout this academic year. The pupils also met undergraduate University ambassadors who took them on a tour of their colleges and around the city of Cambridge. They all had a great time and were a credit to their school. Thank you to Mr Gissendorf and Miss Grimmer for accompanying them.

Key Concept Day: Structure

Year 7 pupils had a special treat on Tuesday, 3 October, as they were taking part in the very first LGA Creative Education Trust Key Concept Day. The aim of the Key Concept days is to introduce children to the foundations of our understanding of the world. This time we looked at structure and were expertly guided by CET Programmes Director Emily Campbell and Programme Manager Kate Ward, along with guest designer Samuel Wilkinson. The pupils had a great time converting 2d shapes to 3d and making models. The next Key Concept Day which will focus on pattern will take place in November.
