On Thursday, 16 November 2017, pupils enjoyed a wide range of new and different experiences during our first PHSE day of the year. The focus for the day was ‘Healthy Body and Mind’. Year 7s tried out body conditioning and relaxation techniques, they also learned more about healthy eating and had time to think about the importance of friendship and anti-bullying. Year 8 took part in a challenge day masterminded by Enabling Enterprise; their focus was team working and entrepreneurial thinking. Year 9 got to grips with money management, body image and self esteem. They also heard a hard hitting and moving speech from Reality Check. Year 10 developed leadership skills in sessions led by the army as well as effective revision techniques and yoga to help unwind. Year 11 also took part in a Challenge day with the theme Commit to Confidence to help them prepare for the challenges ahead. Thank you to Mr Green for co-coordinating the day and everyone who came in to help us.

It was a real pleasure to have a visit from our Chief Executive Marc Jordan on Tuesday, 14 November 2017. Marc met staff and pupils and viewed the recent improvements made to the premises of the school. A highlight of the visit was the delicious lunch cooked and served by year 7 pupils who devised a menu to showcase the skills they have developed in the most recent cookery lessons. Thank you Mr Jordan for coming to visit us!
Urgent message for our leavers 2017 – unfortunately we will not be able to give out exam certificates on Thursday 9th or Friday 10th November as previously published. This is due to a printing error affecting GCSE certificates for all pupils that we are in the process of correcting with exam boards. As soon as we have the reprinted certificates we will contact our 2017 leavers with a new collection time.
On Thursday, 2 November 2017, our Year 7 pupils took part in the second Key Concept Day organised by our Creative Education Trust head office. With the help of guest designer Lea Jagendorf, the pupils explored the concept of pattern – what it is and why it is important. In three sessions they experimented and created designs based on rules all relating to patterns. Thank you to the team from CET head office and Lea as well as our teachers supporting the children throughout the day. Congratulations to form 7V for winning best entry.
Calling all pupils in the exceptional Lynn Grove Academy class of 2017 – It’s time to collect your GCSE Certificates. You will need these certificates in the future so be sure to come and collect them and then keep them very safely somewhere. You will be surprised how often you will be asked for them in later life and if you lose them you will have to go through a complicated and expensive process.
Collection of Exam Certificates
Thursday 9 & Friday 10 November 2017 09:00 – 17:00
From Monday 13 November 2017 15:15 – 17:00
If these times are not convenient, please make an appointment with the Exams Office 01493 660245.
Certificates cannot be given to anyone other than the pupil without their written authorisation.
In line with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) rules, we can only keep certificates for one year after which they will be disposed of – so come and get them at the times above. We are looking forward to seeing you.
