STEM visit to Heatrae Sadia

Year 10 pupils with an interest in a future in engineering had the opportunity to gain a valuable insights ‘the behind the scenes’ at engineering company Heatrae Sadia before half term. The pupils took part in two small group sessions with engineers and designers who were happy to answer their questions about their qualifications, their work, life as an engineer and what goes on in the company. They also had an interesting tour around the factory and were able to see all the different machines and processes involved in manufacture. Thank you to Heatrae Sadia for hosting and to NEACO for assistance in funding this trip.

Art students visit Tate Modern

Year 10 an 11 Art students enjoyed a fantastic outing on Monday visiting Tate Modern in London. This impressive exhibition space houses many collections and exhibitions of contemporary art, many of which are relevant to the pupils’ studies. They were going round in groups taking pictures, making sketches and generally collecting ideas for their studies as well as enjoying the architecture of the venue. Thank you to Miss Dobson and Mrs Dougherty for organising and leading this very successful trip as well as NEACO for their support.
