Christmas carols in candle-lit Minster

Thank you to all who joined us yesterday for our Carol Service at Great Yarmouth Minster. The communities of all CET school in the local area – Caister, Lynn Grove, Woodlands and Wroughton Academies – came together in the beautifully decorated Minster to celebrate the beginning of Christmas. We hope you enjoyed the music and readings as much as we did. Thank you to all organisers and to Revd. Ward and his team.

A special performance

Fair is foul, and foul is fair – the curses of Macbeth’s witches hovered in the air over Lynn Grove Academy today. Our dedicated band of young actors put on a marvellous performance of Shakespeare’s gory tragedy specially for their parents and an invited audience. They are recently returned from the midlands where they performed to pupils from across the Creative Education Trust School. Congratulations to Mr Dungar who directed this visually stunning production and thanks go to the design team too. Professional actor Ryan Early and supported with voice and movement coaching and our old friend Mark Friend helped with the design. Thanks to Ms Crosson-Smith for her support with design ideas and costumes.

Miss Social Media visits Lynn Grove

On 25 November we welcomed Miss Social Media Great Britain, Danielle Evans, to Lynn Grove Academy. Danielle, who is also a rugby player, talked to our year 9 and year 10 girls about overcoming the stereotypes with women who play sport. She has recently started a campaign, #TryMe, which expands from embracing body positivity to being confident in who you are. Thank you for delivering such an inspiring talk to the students.
