We have recently published the calendar for academic year 2019 – 2020. You can find it here to view online or download a PDF version.
We plan the year to best meet the needs of our pupils and our school year will vary slightly from local authority schools and schools in other academy trusts – so if you have children in other schools please check their dates too before planning holidays. At Lynn Grove we do not authorise any holidays in term time. Because every day and every lesson counts we believe we owe it to our pupils to teach ‘proper’ lessons everyday that we expect the children to attend. Great attendance leads to great progress.
Our family support worker Mrs Edwards will be running half-term holiday activities again this February for children in years 4 to 6. There will be cooking, arts & crafts and science on Monday, 18 February 2019. Places are limited so click here for more information and how to book and reply to Lynn Grove Academy reception by 4 February.
The year 9 parents’ evening originally planned for 28 February has been rescheduled for Thursday, 15 March 2018 1700 – 2000. Please see the letter to parents regarding this event for more information.
A letter has gone out to all parents regarding school uniform. Please find the link to the letter below. The information regarding uniform can also be found in the Parents’ Handbook and on the Uniform page.
A few days back our library released their spring term newsletter. It’s a great way to look back at past events as well as exciting events coming up in the near future.
A letter has been sent out to all year 10 parents giving details on the upcoming consultation evening on Thursday, 30 March 2017.
You can download the letter here should you need another copy.
We are looking forward to seeing all Year 8 parents at our Consultation Evening next Thursday 9 February between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. The purpose of the evening is to discuss your child’s progress to date with his or her subject teachers and for you to gain an understanding of areas for further improvement. We would encourage your son or daughter to attend with you; they should wear their school uniform for this important occasion.
For further information please see the letter sent home 1 February 2017.
Parents of year 9 pupils are invited to attend an information session to help them support their sons and daughters plan their year 10 and 11 curriculum.
For further details please see the attached letter.
There are three events for Year 11 parents coming up.
On Thursday 5 January at 6:30 pm, we would like to invite you to an information evening. This meeting, which is for parents only, is primarily designed to help you support your son or daughter to achieve their full potential in their GCSE exams.
On Monday 9 January, Year 11 pupils will participate in their mock results day. We would like to invite you to be with them as they open ‘their envelope’ and attend assembly with them.
Finally, on Wednesday 11 January between 5:00 and 8:00 pm, we will be holding our parents’ consultation evening. At this meeting you will receive detailed individualise feedback on a subject by subject basis. We would like you to attend this meeting with your son or daughter.
Please find details of the arrangements for each event in our letter of 16 December, also attached below. It would help us no end if you could fill in the reply slip.
We’re very pleased to see year 11 pupils starting to prepare for their mock exams. Mr Goddard has drafted this summary of where to find revision resources. We hope you find it helpful.
