Lynn Grove Sport
Pupils at Lynn Grove benefit from the best sporting facilities for miles around. We have extensive playing fields, a large 3G all-weather pitch, recently refurbished tennis courts and netball courts and a well equipped sports hall. Our facilities allow us to offer a wide range of sporting options. Football, Rugby, Netball and Hockey all are popular and in recent years our teams have excelled at local county and national levels. Cross country and athletics are well represented in our sporting calendar and we participate in numerous competitions.
The wide range of sports on offer means that core PE is popular with boys and girls alike and for those with a real passion for playing and sports leadership PE is a popular key stage 4 option.
After school our sports facilities are always busy as pupils participate in a range of clubs and coaching. Pupil Sports Leaders play a substantial role in supporting the younger children and we also enjoy working with our local primary schools.
Lynn Grove Sports Facilities for our Community
We have fantastic facilities available for use during the evenings, at weekends and throughout school holidays.
We offer our sports facilities for hire to local clubs and organizations, and groups of friends who want to be more active. The facilities are open all year round and are a base for numerous sporting clubs and groups. Block bookings and one off bookings are welcome.
Adult and Youth football clubs, Norfolk County Football Association, Norwich City FC Community Sports Foundation, Active Norfolk, Norfolk United Netball Club, Stalham Artistic Skating Club, Great Yarmouth & Waveney Health Trusts ‘Active X’, Great Yarmouth Cricket Club, Belton Cricket Club and Gorleston Tennis Club all use our facilities.
Training and Seminar Facility
We are able to offer seminar facilities for sports groups in our Training Room.
Sports Hall
The sports hall was built in 2005 and has a hard tiled floor with markings for badminton (4 courts), basketball, netball, tennis and volleyball all included. Cricket nets are also available for use. Bookings are by the hour.
All Weather Pitch (See below Lettings Update)
A 3rd Generation full sized football pitch was opened in 2008 and completely renewed in 2018; this excellent facility is used by teams for both training and matches. We offer the whole pitch or thirds of the pitch for hire. Mini soccer goals are provided when using a third of the pitch, full size goals provided for full pitch use. All goals are on wheels making them movable by the hirer. Bookings, other than for matches, are by the hour.
Hard Court Arena
The school, with the assistance from Sport England’s ‘Inspired Facilities’ Grant scheme, has a re-developed the hard court area. We offer floodlight Handball Netball Courts and Tennis courts.
Sports Field
The field is made available for adult and youth football clubs.

The dining facility located behind the sports hall is now open giving access to a range of catering options. For more details contact the school.

We are unable to hold a reserve list but please email lettings@lynngroveacademy.org.uk during the 2nd or 3rd week of September 2024 to see if any of our current hirers have withdrawn their bookings for the new season.

Calling all pupils from the Lynn Grove Academy Class of 2024.
It is time to collect your GCSE Certificates. You will need these certificates in the future so be sure to come and collect them and keep them safe. You will be surprised how often you will be asked for them during your working life and it is a complicated and expensive process to get replacements.
Certificates will be available to collect on
Tuesday 3 December 15:30 – 17:00
If you cannot make these times, please make an appointment to collect them after this time by phoning Lynn Grove Academy.
Certificates cannot be given to anyone other than the person named on the certificate unless you have provided written authorisation for a responsible adult to collect on your behalf. They will need photo id to collect. In line with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) rules, we can only keep certificates for one year after which they will be disposed of and you will need to approach exam boards for copies.
