Pastoral Support at Lynn Grove Academy 

At Lynn Grove Academy, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our ethos—We are a community, we put learning at the heart, we are kind to each other and ourselves, we embrace challenge and we persevere—we are committed to nurturing every student’s wellbeing, personal development, and academic success. 

Our College System 

Our unique college structure ensures that every student feels known, supported, and valued. Each college includes form groups from Years 7 to 10 (with Senior Year college at the top of the Academy) and has its own name, colour, and identity, fostering a strong sense of belonging and pride. Alongside your Child’s form tutor, every college is led by a dedicated team comprising: 

• A Pastoral Manager 

• A Progress Leader 

• A Senior Leadership Team Link 

This “team around the child” approach allows us to provide tailored support, encourage excellent attendance, and help pupils thrive both academically and personally. 

If parents/carers have any concerns about their child they should in the first instance contact their Child’s Form tutor who will then liaise with their college team or wider school professionals if required.  

A Broader Network of Support 

Beyond our college teams, Lynn Grove Academy is proud to offer a wide-reaching pastoral network, including: 

• A qualified pupil counsellor 

• Two dedicated youth workers 

• An attendance support team 

• An inclusion room manager 

• A IER room manager 

• A Safeguarding team  

• A Literacy team and EAL co-ordinator 

• A SEND team 

Together, this team works to ensure that every student—regardless of background or need—feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.
